Locals cleaning the weed-covered Paryvarani lake

Annapurna Rural Municipality, 7 Gharamdi, located at the head of Paryvarani (Varahi) lake of religious and tourist importance has been covered by weeds, the local residents are engaged in cleaning.
The local lake protection committee has started removing weeds from the 250,000 budget of Annapurna rural municipality ward number 7 office. In Paryvarani Lake, which is about 200 meters long and 70 meters wide, the water level drops a bit in winter.
‘The entire lake was covered with unknown weeds destroying the beautiful beauty of Paryvarani Lake and since the weeds are getting thicker every year, the lake has been cleaned and stones have been laid around the lake to build a footpath,’ said Milan Purja, the ward president of Annapurna Rural Municipality-7, ‘locals have also contributed. In addition, 8 youths have been cleaning the lake daily for 5 days. We have estimated that it will take another 5-7 days to bring the lake weeds to the shore and to lift them from the shore.’
Local technology boats have been built to remove the lake weeds The local people have been sitting in the local boat made by tying oil barrels (drums) on the plate made by connecting thin flakes of wood and pulling the weeds out of the lake.
Located in the midst of dense Guranshe forest, the picturesque Paryvarani lake is geographically remote, but it can be reached after an hour’s north-west walk from the famous tourist destination Ghodepani/Punhill.
Ghorepani is connected by Paribharani Motorway. A separate cycle lane has also been made up to Ghorepani-Bharani lake. Motorway is also connected from Annapurna Rural Municipality-6 Khiwang and Chitra Basti. Mahre-Khopra footpath should also start from the shore of the same lake. A big religious fair is held in this lake on Janaipurnima day.
